In the 4th quarter of 2011, women aged 35 to 44 years old made $757 on average
per week compared to $1,029 per week for men, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Gender Gap was created specifically to compete in the Equal Pay App Challenge put out by the U.S. Department
of Labor. The app intends to boost public awareness of the salary differences between males and females
who are doing the same jobs. Our goal was to produce an app that is both fun and educational.
