Gender Gap has won a grand prize and the Mentorship Award in the U.S. Department of Labor's Equal Pay App Challenge!
BRISTOW, VA - April 17, 2012 - The U.S. Department of Labor's Secretary Hilda Solis announced today that Bear-Eco Technologies' iPhone App, Gender Gap, is among the winners of the Equal Pay App Challenge. The Equal Pay App Challenge is part of a series of steps the Obama Administration has taken to secure a woman's right to equal pay for equal work. Gender Gap won a grand prize and the Mentorship Award.
Gender Gap was created specifically to compete in the Equal Pay App Challenge put out by the U.S. Department of Labor. The app intends to boost public awareness of the salary differences between males and females who are doing the same jobs. The goal was to produce an app that is both fun and educational.
"We are proud to have been part of the initiative to help bring awareness to the gender gap issue", said Steve Jernigan, CEO and Founder of Bear-Eco Technologies, LLC. "I hope that this problem can be eliminated and my daughter can have the same opportunities as males her age when she enters the workforce", said Jernigan.
Gender Gap will be available worldwide from the iTunes App Store for free.
